The Popularity of Dancing with the Stars
Dancing with the Stars has seen a lot of success in America, having been adapted from the United Kingdom BBC show Strictly Come Dancing. The show is so popular that it’s been adapted in more than 30 countries. The show pairs American celebrities, actors, and singers with professional ballroom dancers. A variety of dancing is done on Dancing with the Stars. Some of the most popular dances have been the cha-cha, the foxtrot, the tango, and the salsa. The couples then compete each week, facing a scoring and elimination. Viewers and fans of the show also get to cast their vote by phone and internet and the couple with the lowest combined score is eliminated that week. To date, eight seasons of Dancing with the Stars have aired, the last premiering in March of 2009.

The winners of season 1, which aired in 2005, were Kelley Monoco and Alec Mazo. The first episode of this season drew over thirteen million viewers, which was a record for a summer reality television series debut. For its entire duration, Dancing with the Stars stayed number 1 in the ratings. Season 2, which aired in 2006, featured Master P, Kenny Mayne, Tatum O’Neil, and Drew Lachey. Ultimately, Drew Lachey and his partner Cheryl Burke won the competition, probably due to the professional dancing career of Burke and the years of experience Lachey had in 98 Degrees.
In season 3 of Dancing with the Stars the voting system was changed. Instead of fan votes counting for 50% of the total score, it was reduced to 25%. Interestingly, the results show of season three also featured a Slim Fast dance challenge with Tysonia Sichinga and Christian Perry. The challenge was designed to show how Slim Fast and exercise can aid in weight loss but Tysonia ended up gaining almost five pounds from drinking too much Slim Fast. The winners of season 3 were Emmitt Smith, an NFL running back, and Cheryl Burke for the second time.
Later seasons of Dancing with the Stars proved the long-lasting popularity of the show. Other stars that have appeared include Joey Fatone of N’Sync, Wayne Newton, Helio Castroneves, an Indy 500 racer, Penn Jillette, and Toni Braxton.
The popularity and long-lasting appeal of Dancing with the Stars can’t be denied. With 8 seasons under its belt, the show is expected to remain on the air and drawing millions of votes around the country for years to come.
Video Conversion Software – Converting Media Files the Easy Way: Convert Genius Review
Everyone has struggled at some point or another to get a media file into a format that will work with various programs. While some videos will work on one computer, they suddenly don’t work when you send them to a friend or colleague. Convert Genius is a media converter to solve all of your compatibility issues.
Convert Genius works with all of the most popular media formats used today. It performs all conversions quickly and easily, while retaining the high quality of your files. The software is intuitive, with an uncluttered interface. Getting started with using the program is a breeze for both the novice and audio or visual professional. Handling all formats including the popular MP3, RM, MPEG and more, finding the appropriate buttons and menus is simple.
One of the biggest benefits of Convert Genius, especially for the newcomer to media file conversion, is that while Convert Genius works with all media files, the settings and parameters for the most popular conversions are already built in to the system. For the casual user who is simply looking to convert their music files into a format that is compatible with their portable music player, the process is streamlined and made as simple as possible.
The website, Convert Genius, provides an exhaustive list of all file formats the software can handle and even a professional would be hard pressed to find a job that Convert Genius cannot take on. In addition, the site also provides extensive documentation on installation, conversion, setting parameters and more. Though the software itself is a breeze, those who purchase the program also have a vast array of assistance waiting for them on ConvertGenius.com if necessary.
An important feature of Convert Genius that simply cannot be overlooked is the speed at which it converts files. With other programs, converting batches of media files is a tedious exercise that can easily eat up the better part of your day. This is not the case with Convert Genius. Setting up a large batch of files to convert simultaneously is a simple as clicking a few buttons and letting it do its thing. Files are done much faster than the one at a time method of other programs, and most impressively, with no loss of quality.
While the slick design and simple interface of Convert Genius makes it an ideal product for those new to media file conversion, it should not be looked upon as a product for the amateur. Newcomers can find preset parameters to make the most common and popular conversions a breeze. Advanced users, however, can feel free to tweak and test these parameters themselves, giving the freedom to achieve the exacting results you would expect from such a professional product.
Whether in need of a quick conversion here and there for personal entertainment use, or converting large batches of high quality video clips as quickly and efficiently as possible. Convert Genius can handle the job. Ideal for casual and advanced users alike, Convert Genius gets the job done.
