Basics on Suddenlink Digital Cable

Suddenlink is one of the top ten cable broadband players in America with over 1,300,000 million subscribers, both residential and commercial. The company offers television, internet and phone services but streamlines the process by offering these services via the same connection, billing all three services on the same invoice, and offering a comprehensive support service.

Sudden Link cable offers great content in excellent digital quality, brining images and sound to life.   One drawback though, the coverage area is limited to 19 states including West Virginia, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas and North Carolina.

Suddenlink Digital Cable has advanced services available for its customers including HDTV, digital video recording, video on demand and premium channels. Packages can be created according to your entertainment wants, and you can also get lightning fast internet and unlimited long distance phone access, all from the same company.

Sudden Link Digital Cable offers three main packages namely the Popular Package at $57, the Popular DVR Bundle at $68 and the Signature Package at $82. There are also nice deals available if you wish to add internet access or phone services to your bundles.

The Popular Package offers more than 120 channels broadcasting a wide range of entertainment from sports, news, movies, cooking shows, music and much more. You also get access to pay-per-view, an onscreen guide with parental control so you can block any channels by applying a rating. The package also includes all local networks and it can be installed in all the rooms of your house at no extra charge.

Suddenlink Digital Cable’s Popular DVR Bundle includes the same 120 channels as the previous package, as well as the ability to save, stop and rewind with the use of a Digital Video Recorder. This makes it easy to even record an entire series by using your on screen guide to set the DVR, which means that you’ll never have to miss a program. Another advantage is that you are not tied into a long term contract and there are no disconnect fees.

The Signature Package offers 205 channels to which you can add your choice of all the channels from HBO, Starz or Showtime and HD at the same $82 price per month. This bundle also includes a DVR, does not require signing a contract and you even get a 30 day guarantee. As with the previous bundle you also have access to parental control and an on screen programming guide.

Suddenlink Digital Cable also offers great combination bundles which are highly cost-effective. Take for example, if you sign up for the Signature Bundle for your television entertainment, 8 Megs high speed Internet and a home phone, all for 7 per month. If you select the Popular DVR Bundle then you will get everything for a monthly payment of about 5.

You can also create your own package of services or bundles with Suddenlink Digital Cable.

AT&T U-verse Now Has HD Programming

Today people are looking to maximize their entertainment dollar. High gas prices, a slowing economy, and high food costs are putting the squeeze on citizens. Luckily, one of the great values in entertainment is your cable or satellite TV service.

If you stop and think about it, you can get a bundle including over 200 stations including premium movie channels like Cinemax and Starz for about $75 dollars a month. That is less than you usually spend for dinner and a movie. The latest technology in the pay television market is HD, or high definition service. What should you evaluate when hooking up that new plasma TV you just purchased?

Remember that your standard cable TV or satellite TV service is not in hi-def. You must specifically buy a package that features this type of programming. So where do smart shoppers begin?

Call your current provider and investigate exactly what they can do as far as hi-def service. Satellite television companies DISH Network and DirecTV have been leading the charge as far as providing the most high definition when you look at channel counts. Cable television providers like Comcast also have some great offerings, such as HD on-demand. Find out exactly how much upgrading to HD will be, and if you need additional equipment.

If what they offer is not what you need, its time to do a little comparison shopping. The newest offerings include an all HD package from DISH Network called TurboHD. DirecTV offers HD service for only $9.99 a month. Prices are different with cable television companies across the country, so you will have to call your cable operator to see what the price is for HD service.

Another consideration is that some telephone companies now offer TV service. AT&T now provides their UVerse service in many areas along with voice and DSL. Verizon is also selling television service, providing their fiber optic service FiOS in limited areas. It is advisable that you compare different services side-by-side, such as U-verse vs Direct TV. All of this is a great benefit to the consumer, as more competition encourages lower prices in the end.

Subsribing to Satellite Service In Your Condominium

For many years, Americans had only one option when it came to their pay television service - cable TV. That changed in the early 1990’s, when satellite TV became affordable and practical when the size of the satellite dish was greatly reduced. But today, those that live in condominiums are oftentimes restricted when it comes to this choice.

So what can the condo dweller do? Recent rulings by the FCC have made it a bit easier for these renters and homeowners to get away from high cable television prices. Let’s consider some of the frequently asked questions in this area.

I live in a condominium, and my homeowners association restricts satellite TV installation. What can I do?

This is a difficult situation to deal with. Homeowners associations have become extremely restrictive over the years when it comes to just about everything. The bottom line is that the FCC has ruled you have the right to satellite television, though the dish may have to be placed in an area considered “exclusive use.” This means no placement of the dish in common areas.

I own my own condo. Can I get satellite television?

his oftentimes depends on the owner of the unit. Satellite television companies generally require landlord permission, so check directly with Dish Network or DIRECTV before scheduling installation. Twenty four month contracts are the general rule for new satellite customers, so be sure you can fulfill your end of the bargain.

I have heard about new shared satellite television systems. How do these work?

Many high rise apartments and condominiums have begun to allow satellite TV companies access to their buildings. These large scale systems give the complete building access to a satellite provider, and give you a choice when comparing satellite TV vs. cable. Check with your landlord to see if they have upgraded to a system like this.

21st century technology is beneficial to renters and homeowners alike. With expanded availability to satellite services, cable TV companies will have to hold the line on prices in order to remain competitive. More importantly, fully evaluate the options available in obtaining satellite television at your condo .
