“Gia” was a made for TV movie that came out in 1998. “Gia” was based on the life of top model Gia Carangi. This movie was amazing. Jolie takes of the persona of Gia so well, that you forget she is playing a acting role, she seems completely natural.
In 1998 & 1999 she is in the two better known movies Pushing Tin and Playing By Heart. These are both good movies, but they are movies that you wouldn’t think of right away when someone talks about Angelina Jolie movies.
In 1999 Angelina Jolie began to star in some of her most popular movies. Everyone remembers her as the crazy Lisa from “Girl, Interrupted”, and who could forget Sway from “Gone In 60 Seconds”. These movies really were break out hits for Angelina Jolie, this is when her name started becoming known to everyone.
Angelina Jolie continues to act in amazing movies including “Tomb Raider”, “Mr. & Mrs. Smith”, “Beowulf”, and “Wanted”. You can expect to see Angelina Jolie continuing to act in many more films including the movie “Salt” set to come out in 2010.
